In finishing the 2017 NBA season as the league leader in points and assists, Russell Westbrook would have had a case for Most Valuable Player, even if he hadn't rounded out his 37.4 points and 10.8 dishes with 11.6 rebounds per game. And with the record for most triple doubles in a season coming only days after he became the first player to average a triple-double since Oscar Robertson in 1961-62, why even mention the fact that he led his team [a playoff team] in every single statistical category, except for blocking.

One mega basketball fan who favors Westbrook as the unanimous MVP is Lil Wayne, who made that much apparent when after bringing him out on stage during a concert in Oklahoma City on Thursday night, April 26, he lead fans in an "M-V-P" chant. The Criterion crowd had already been pumped by Wayne spitting his verse on Chance the Rapper's "No Problem," when he substituted the song's hook with the chant.

Westbrook had himself already been lit, taking in the vibes stage-sid when he was surprised by the honor.
