Two corrections officers were hospitalized as the result of an attack carried out at Cook County Jail in Chicago on Wednesday, April 26, and the county sheriff is not at all happy about it. In fact, Sheriff Thomas J. Dart has stated that he is in talks with the state Attorney's Office to bring the three inmates involved up on attempted murder charges.

Video of the beating has been released to the public and shows the moment the first deputy is pressed, then assaulted, before the other attempts to come to his aid and is also beat. The incident is said to have occurred at around 8:30 p.m. in a housing tier in Division 9 of the supermax facility, and involved inmates David Bush, 19, Taiwan McNeal, 20, and Terrence Lynom, 20; all of whom are already facing attempted murder charges.

Officials say that Bush, McNeal, and Lynom have been responsible for multiple disciplinary incidents in the prison.
