A few weeks back, Dr. David Dao was forcefully removed from a United Airlines flight, leaving him bloodied in the process.

Dao was dragged by his arms from the plane, and the entire ordeal was caught on video. Since then, United CEO Oscar Munoz has apologized on behalf of the company and made it clear that he wanted to do everything he could to make the situation right. Now, Dr. Dao reached a settlement with United for injuries he suffered at the hands of their staff members.

According to his attorney, Dao suffered a concussion, a broken nose, and lost two teeth because of the ordeal. The doctor's attorney also noted that according to the terms of the settlement between both parties, the amount Dao received would stay undisclosed.

United made an announcement in relation to the incident, making it clear that they would be implementing new policies for their flights to make sure an incident like the one Dao went through will not happen moving forward. Dao's attorney told the press that United claimed responsibility for the incident, saying, "Mr. Munoz said he was going to do the right thing, and he has. In addition, United has taken full responsibility for what happened on Flight 3411, without attempting to blame others, including the City of Chicago. For this acceptance of corporate accountability, United is to be applauded."

In the statement United made, they said the company "breached public trust, and it's a serious breach." Their new policy ensures that they will no longer use police to take customers off of overbooked flights. Along with that, United is promising additional training for employees.
