Ivanka Trump was, for the most part, treated like a welcomed guest at the W20 Summit in Berlin on Tuesday, April 25. Like any other woman at the annual female business leaders function, she was celebrated for her many successes as an entrepreneur, and in that regard, one might say she is her father's daughter. But it became clear that many of her peers at the annual engagement would have liked nothing other than for her to divorce herself from the U.S. President on the topic of women.

Sitting alongside a panel that included German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Ivanka received jeers from the audience when she selected to defend the senior Trump as "a tremendous champion of supporting families and enabling them to thrive."

When the crowd's reaction to Ivanka was highlighted by moderator Miriam Meckel, who then confronted Ivanka with the inconvenient reality that many have been turned off by her father and seen as anything but a stand for women, she deflected the criticism onto the media, before citing past women employees of his company as a testament to his belief and solid conviction in the potential of women and their ability to do the job as well as any man.
