Kanye West is known for being very hands-on with his music and brand, but for one idea he had, that was not the case. According to David Cho, the former publisher of Grantland, West wanted to have the n-word in each title of his and Jay Z's 'Watch The Throne' album. However, Jay Z was not with the idea at all.

During an interview for the podcast 'A Waste of Time,' Cho spoke on meeting various celebrities and artists like Tyrese, Pharrell, Timbaland, and Justin Timberlake. Cho then spoke on how he played Jenga with West, but also gave a unique bit of information about Jay Z and West's differences on adding the n-word to every title of each song on the album. Cho noted that West said, "We’re gonna put the N-word in every single title of this album so everyone has to say it and they have to confront it."

Cho also said that originally Jay Z wanted "N***as in Paris" to be named "Ball So Hard." However, Kanye West fought that decision and pushed for the provocative title. Cho thought that maybe that song title may have been a compromise between the two, since none of the other titles were changed.
