Kendrick Lamar recently sat down for an interview with Beats 1 Radio's Zane Lowe, where he opened up about his highly praised album, DAMN. Speaking of praise, Kendrick addressed criticism he knew he would receive, saying, "Everybody’s not going appreciate and I know how it works. I don’t even want to gravitate towards it. I want to go out there and see if you’re sitting out in the crowd looking at me with the mummy face or are you enjoying yourself?”

During the sit-down, Kendrick also revealed that he recorded a lot of songs about the recent election, “I have a lot of records [about the election]. Just off of pure frustration. Just off the simple wow-factor of what’s going on. What happens is, I have these records, and there are certain things in these songs that I may pull pieces from to make sure that it’s covered."
