Mia Khalifa recently found herself at the focus of an increasingly popular rumor that she has contracted HIV. On Thursday, April 20, the Lebanese porn star took to social media to finally addressed those rumors, doing so through a series of tweets intended to mock the claims. She utilized pop culture references to make light of the allegations, and even went so far as to attempt to take advantage of the chatter, writing, "Y'all are making me trend worldwide... for free... Here's a link to my store, we ship internationally http://MiaKshop.com," adding the hashtag, #StandWithMia.
"Jokes on y'all, this is gonna be me next time the beer line is too long at a hockey game," Mia wrote in the caption of a clip of Danny DeVito inviting himself to the front of a pool line by claiming to have AIDS in an episode of FX comedy "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." She'd continue to poke fun of the rumor with a quote from South Park that read, "I'm not just sure. I'm HIV positive."
While many of Khalifa's fans took her posts for tongue in cheek humor, others took offense to her method of addressing the sensitive issue.
