Michael Flynn briefly served as the national security adviser to Donald Trump before resigning over not disclosing his conversations with the Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak about U.S. sanctions. Now, Flynn is seeking immunity from prosecution in exchange for testifying about Trump's alleged ties to Russia, according to the Wall Street Journal.

FBI, the House intelligence committee, and the Senate intelligence committee are currently investigating Trump and his associates for their alleged ties to Russia during the 2016 campaign. Flynn made an offer to testify to all three entities, but so far, none have accepted his offer.

Flynn's attorney Robert Kelner spoke on the situation, “General Flynn certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should the circumstances permit,” Kelner wrote. “Out of respect for the Committees, we will not comment right now on the details of discussions between counsel for General Flynn and the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, other than to confirm that those discussions have taken place.”
