Fans of the much beloved 1988 comedy Coming to America were thrilled earlier this month after the film's star Eddie Murphy hinted on Twitter at a sequel. TMZ later reported that sources had confirmed a second film is indeed in production, though still in the early writing stages.
Soon after the news broke, rumors began swirling that funnyman Kevin Hart would have a lead role in the new film, but unfortunately the rumor looks to be false.
Twitter user Pamela Ellis recently posted a promo poster for the sequel which features Murphy, Arsenio Hall, and Kevin Hart, plus a release date of New Year's Day, 2018. Ellis also directed a question at Hart, asking him if the poster is real.
Turns out it's just a clever photoshop job, as the 37-year-old comic responded with a definitive "No."
