As was announced back in December, 2Pac will soon become the sixth hip-hop artist to be honored with an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Fans of the rap great's contributions, particularly to West Coast hip hop, will be delighted to learn that Long Beach, CA's own potential hall-of-famer, Snoop Dogg has been enlisted to formally induct him.

Snoop and 2Pac were famously linked through the Death Row connection that came about when Suge Knight signed the former Digital Underground rapper when he was fresh out of prison in 1995. Snoop had of course been a part of the roster of Cali artists usurped by the label as it began to dominate the left coast. They would go on to collaborate on "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted," a track off of All Eyez On Me [1996], before becoming the "Wanted Dead of Alive" tandem that showed up donned out in mobster attire at the 1996 MTV Music Awards.

The big day is scheduled for April 7 at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, whether 2Pac's name will forever go down in history alongside class of 2017 mates Pearl Jam, Journey, Electric Light Orchestra, Joan Baez, and Yes. Pac joins Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run D.M.C., the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, and NWA as the only hip-hop acts to have been bestowed with the honor to date.
