Rolando Cardenas, 55, is accused of firing several shots from the back of a double-decker bus near the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, killing one person and wounding another. Cardenas shut down the Vegas strip for hours before he barricaded himself inside the vehicle Saturday, according to police. He peacefully surrendered to SWAT officers that afternoon following an hours-long standoff outside the hotel.

The Clark County coroner's office identified the victim as 57-year-old Gary Breitling, of Sidney, Mont, who died at a hospital Saturday. According to police, the other wounded victim was hospitalized and is expected to live. Both victims were seated in the back of the bus with Cardenas.

The incident occurred hours after burglars - one of whom wore a pig mask - carrying sledgehammers broke into a Rolex store in the Bellagio around 1 a.m. Cardenas was charged with suspicion of murder, attempted murder, burglary, and opening fire on the bus. He is being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center and is expected to make a court appearance on Tuesday.
