Lebron James took the floor for the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, March 25, after being cleared to play against the Washington Wizards in spite of a scratched cornea that threatened to hinder his game. In an attempt to combat against the sensitivity to light he finds himself suffering, he decided to wear a pair of tinted goggles, which didn't do him good for long.

"It was kinda bothering me when I first got out there. And that's why I put on the goggles, the shades, because it gave me a little bit of tint. Um, I think I missed my first couple of shots, or I made my first dunk, then I missed a couple of shots and I went, the hell with those things," James said after the game. He would go on to chuck the specs over to the Cavs bench with Washington up 27-18 and 3:37 left in the first quarter. That wouldn't be enough to help mount a comeback, as the slow start Cleveland got off to would enable the Wizards to score an eye popping 71 points in the first half, and go on to collect a 127-115 win.

James has taken measures to protect his face area before, only, last time he did it his vision wasn't impeded on. Back in 2014 when he was dealing with a broken nose the reigning champion wore a black carbon-fiber mask, that the NBA made him switch to a clear mask in the days to follow. He was able to go 13-19 for 31 points during that game.
