The Springfield Police Department has released bodycam footage from an incident late last month that resulted in the arrest of a Springfield police officer.

In the February 27 incident, an officer identified as Samuel Rosario responded to a domestic disturbance call on the city's east side during which he engaged in a verbal altercation with a 19-year-old man, which escalated into the officer physically attacking the teen.

In disturbing bodycam footage released by police, Rosario can be heard repeatedly taunting and insulting the teen in an attempt to get him to fight. When the goading doesn't work, Rosario eventually rushes at him and the two begin to grapple. The video then cuts to another responding officer's cam, where Rosario can be seen throwing the teen to the ground where he viciously pummels him with a closed fist.

Police say Rosario was arrested the following morning on preliminary charges of official misconduct and two counts of battery. The teen was not arrested or charged in the incident.
