D.L. Hughley showed Wyclef Jean no chill following his arrest by LAPD in what amounted to a case of mistaken identity earlier this week, reminding the Fugees rapper of his "All Lives Matter" stance in the aftermath of the demeaning incident.

Wyclef was pulled over in West Hollywood as police were on the search for an armed robber. Police say his vehicle matched the description given of the culprit's getaway ride, but it was how the stop was handled that would tick Clef off. Officials have since defended the measures it took as falling under the parameters of "lawful detention," for the sake of public safety, through a press release in which the department acknowledges it held Jean for six minutes and conceded it is "apologetic for any convenience." But for Jean, the release of a simple courtesy statement didn't get at the root of the matter, which he went lengths to expound on in the hours that followed his brief detainment.

Clef expressed disdain for his treatment through a series of posts on social media, that took followers step by step through the humiliating incident. "They proceeded to ignore me and I was treated like a criminal until other police showed up and pointed out they had the wrong person. Nor was I told why I was being cuffed. In the process, I said my name and told them they had the wrong person. I was asked by police to put my hands up. Then I was told do not move. I was instantly handcuffed before being asked to identify myself," he wrote in a chain of tweets. "As someone who has law enforcers in my family, I was appalled by this behavior of the LAPD. I am sure no father wants his sons or daughters to see him in handcuffs, especially if he is innocent," he went on to conclude.

While it didn't take long for Wyclef to go public, and he went so far as to share a video he'd caption: "Why am I in handcuffs!!!!!????? This is what I said to the LAPD after they put me in handcuffs for mistaken identity !!!!!!!" Hughley felt it his part to bring the Black Lives Matter narrative along relative to the injustice, by sarcastically presenting Jean with his advocacy on the side of the All Lives Matter mantra which many interpret as a dismissal of and deflection from the institutional racism primarily faced by the Black community. Although Jean didn't necessarily align himself with the All Lives Matter movement as an organization, many contend he justified their premise when months back he asserted that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "fought because all lives matter."

"I've never seen anyone go to jail for talking too little....even when you tell the truth," Hughley tweeted on Wednesday, March 22. "In January #Wyclef tweeted #AllLivesMatter, in March he finds out it's hard to tweet when ur handcuffed in the back of a squad car!"
