There has been an abnormal amount of children missing in the D.C. area, which has prompted parents to be overly cautious about their children's whereabouts. A city council meeting was held at Excel Academy Public Charter School in Southeast D.C. by Ward 8 Councilmember Trayon White in an attempt to find a solution.

During the meeting, one frightened young girl got up to address the crowd, telling them that her freedom as a child, along with other children, has been taken away because their parents are scared of them being abducted. As of March 2017, there have been over 500 children reported missing in the D.C. area.
