Shortly after FBI Directory James Comey officially stated that the bureau is investigating possible collusion between Trump's campaign team and Russia in the 2016 US election, ex-Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort is facing new allegations related to his connection to former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.

According to Ukrainian lawmaker Sergii Leshchenko, Manafort tried to hide payments made to him from Yanukovych's pro-Russia party. Leshchenko produced an October 2009 invoice for computer equipment which came out to a payment of $750,000. The document appears to bear Manafort's signature; news outlets have been unable to verify the document's authenticity.

A spokesperson for Manafort denied the allegations.
