A robbery suspect's plans went horribly awry after he attempted to hold up a car carrying four victims in Hawthorne, Calif. early Wednesday morning.

At around 2:45 a.m., surveillance cameras show the victims exiting a Denny's restaurant and getting into their car. It's at this point that the suspect robs them. One of the victims is able to leap from the car and run inside to call police. However, the driver of the vehicle decides this is not the day to be robbed and guns the car backward, slinging the suspect out.

As the suspect attempts to run to a getaway vehicle which passes right in front of him, the driver floors it and runs the man down, causing him to inadvertently shoot himself in the head.
