Ricardo Medina, the actor who played one of the Power Rangers on the TV series Power Rangers Wild Force, on Thursday pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter for killing his roommate with a sword.

Medina, 38, killed Josh Sutter during an altercation at their Green Valley, Los Angeles residence in January 2015.

Medina faces up to six years in prison, prosecutors said.

According to investigators, the dispute between the two roommates escalated when Sutter forced his way into Medina's room and Medina instinctively reached for the sword he kept by his door, which he then used to stab Sutter a number of times.

Medina was known for his role as the Red Lion Wild Force Ranger on Power Rangers Wild Force in 2002 and 2003, as well as his haunting portrayal of the nefarious Deker character in Power Rangers Samurai, which enjoyed a celebrated 2011-to-2012 run.
