Having been under heavy fire the last few weeks for his relationship with Russian officials, Trump has fired back in an attempt to shift attention. Early Saturday morning, Trump took to twitter to accuse former President Barack Obama of tapping his Trump Tower phones prior to the election.

Trump goes on to say in his twitter rant, “Is it legal for a sitting President to be ‘wiretapping’ a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by the court earlier. A NEW LOW!” Harsh accusations, going as far as to compare Obama to the Nixon- Watergate scandal, yet offered no evidence to support any of his claims.

The controversy with Russia flared up for Trump when Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who led the witch hunt on Hillary Clinton's email controversy, met with the Russian ambassador twice last year despite telling senators during his confirmation hearing that he had no communication with the Russians during the campaign. The FBI has opened an investigation into allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 election to boost Trump's campaign, it looks as if Trump is beginning to feel the pressure.
