Last night, Donald Trump addressed a fully convened Congress in his first formal speech since his inaugural address a month earlier. Trump talked tax cuts, a plan to increase infrastructure spending, the military budget, and his dogmatic immigration crackdown.

From the onset of the president's speech, the partisan divide was all too visible, as the Republican side of the aisle took each and every flourish of Trumpian rhetoric to stand and applaud while the Democrats, for the most part, remained seated and silent.

Displays of partisanship are not uncommon during presidential addresses, but the Republicans' almost sycophantic support of Trump earned them a collective Donkey of the Day from Power 105's Charlamagne tha God. "Last night I counted at least 74 meaningless standing ovations. If you put the TV on mute you would think Trump was spitting fire," Charlamagne said. "I think they were just giving him standing ovations because he was sticking to the script of the teleprompter and he was pronouncing words right." Listen to Charlamagne above.
