Baller Alert caught up with Boosie BadAzz during the NBA All-Star weekend and has released a bit of its interview with the Baton Rouge rapper. Among the topics discussed were rappers in prison, the word "ratchet," and violence in Chicago. In addressing what is perhaps the most urgent issue of the three topics at the present moment in time, Boosie admitted to not being sure what they answer could be in terms of how to bring murders down in the Chi.

"I guess you gotta start in the community. You gotta give these kids something to do. You gotta give them football, you gotta give them sports, you gotta keep giving them activity," said Boosie. He was asked whether he thinks President Trump's proposal to send federal authorities in to deal with crime by force is the answer. Boosie said he's not sure whether to endorse such a plan because he doesn't live in the city and doesn't know the circumstance well enough to be able to gauge whether that would be the best response. While reflecting on his own childhood, Boosie says that all he knows is keeping something productive in a child's hands will keep the unproductive out of them.

"It's just like me. When I wasn't able to do nothing in the hood without activities I went and did wrong. If you don't have nothing to do, drugs and stuff is always in front of you," he said.
