The Golden State Warriors are following up their historic 73-9 season with another stellar effort, putting up a record for the 2016-17 squad on Saturday, February 25, and the league is just coming back from it's All-Star break.

The Warriors 112-95 victory over the Brooklyn Nets at Oracle Arena may not have made it much easier to repeat last year's feat, as the team has already dropped as many as they did all season in 2015-16 [they are now 49-9]. But they did clinch the playoffs with the win, becoming the fastest team to ever do so.

The Warriors didn't need much to conquer the NBA's worst team, but their stars showed out none the less, with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combining for 51 points in Draymond Green's absent performance [Green shot 1 for 10 in the game]. Green would be rested most the game, as would be Kevin Durant.

Seeing how it's pretty much not realistic for Golden State to wear themselves out trying to tie last season's mark, fans should expect to see their stars get a lot more rest. Some experts have floated the question as to whether their collapse to the Cavs in the finals might have had anything to do with burn out, as coach Kerr did run his stars out there up until the very last game, in giving them a shot to make history.
