In this exclusive flashback interview from 2014, Young Dolph shares stories from his childhood, hustling at a young age and working with Memphis legends like Juicy J.
The South Memphis native talks about growing up in a poverty-stricken area filled with crime and violence. While it was dangerous, the rapper explains a comradery among neighbors and his friends. He also says getting out of the hood was a big priority. Instead of focusing on school and being a teen, he decided to work on the streets to take care of his family. Dolph later explains that he started hustling at the age of 14, but didn't take it seriously until he was 16-years-old.
After being inspired by rappers like C-Murder and Lil Boosie, he decided to record music between 2008 and 2009. After working on it seriously, Dolph has had the pleasure to work with Juicy J, Yo Gotti and many more.
Check out what he has to say about his experience with Juicy J and more above.
