Civil rights groups, especially those representing LGBTQ rights, were up in arms Thursday (February 23) after Trump announced he was stripping transgender students of protections put in place by President Obama.

The Trump administration on Wednesday (February 22) announced it was revoking federal guidelines allowing transgender students the right of using public school restrooms that matched their gender identity.

Notable transgender public figure Caitlyn Jenner weighed in on the decision Thursday.

"Finally I have a message for President Trump. From, well, one republican to another," she said in a video posted to her Instagram. "This is a disaster. And you can still fix it. You made a promise to the LGBTQ community. Call me," Jenner finished.
