Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan Close to Confirming Fight in United Arab Emirates

Welterweight world champion Manny Pacquiao announced Wednesday night that he is in negotiations for a fight with Amir Khan.

"My team and I are in negotiations with Amir Khan for our next fight. Further announcement coming soon," Pacquiao wrote on Twitter.

The date for the fight is rumored to be May 20th, but Bob Arum, a Pacquiao promoter, said that date was unlikely. "May 20th is a non-starter. The senate in the Philippines [Pacquiao serves in the senate] is in session then," Arum said. "Maybe in April or maybe June, but not May."
