Wednesday morning it was announced that Jay-Z will make history as the first rapper to be inducted into the songwriters Hall of Fame. He leads an all-star class, including Babyface and legendary Motown man Barry Gordon. The Brooklyn native has 21-time Grammys, which is tied for the most by a rapper, and also boasts the most number one records by a solo artist with 13.

Even with his acclaim as a rapper, HOV has been focused elsewhere with the emergence of ROC Nation becoming a multi-faceted talent agency and with the recent news that he is starting his own venture capital firm. Looks like HOV is starting 2017 off right.
