A Brazilian man was left with a fractured skull and chest after being hit by a runaway tire in a freak accident. 50-year-old Roberto Carlos Fernandes was walking with his wife when he was suddenly struck on the head by the tire, knocking him to the ground, face first.
Witnesses revealed that the tire came loose from a trailer that was being pulled by a truck. The tire bounced across two lanes of traffic before hitting Fernandes. He is said to be "feeling much better" after being treated at a nearby hospital.
