Chris Brown defended his decision to drop out of the Soulja Boy fight, against accusations that he is afraid of the SODMG rapper, on Tuesday, February 21. Brown says he allowed the fight to fall through because what began as a righteous endeavor, to bring awareness to street violence, wound up being tainted by the involvement of parties trying to get in it for all the wrong reasons.

"I bowed out of this Soulja Boy fight. Let me tell you why, because it was a legit thing on a positive scale. All the wrong people got in the way, the middle men people got in the way," said Brown. "The homies, so to speak, got in the way because they want to get a piece of the pie."

Soulja Boy took to IG to announce that the fight is off, earlier this week. Some may have seen the collapse coming, with the sudden disappearance of Floyd Mayweather from the fight's promotion, after spending several weeks talking the possibility of the fight up. Soulja would eventually tell followers that he was frustrated over how long the planning was taking, and encouraged them to look out for him setting up the event himself. Meanwhile, Bloods leaders on the West Coast were letting it be known that they've got "paperwork" on both artists, and thus no fight could happen without them.

Brown doesn't state exactly who he deems responsible for the fight falling apart, but you can check out his full explanation in the above clip.
