Alt-right pundit Milo Yiannopoulos resigned from his position as a senior editor at Breitbart News after a video of him defending pedophilia surfaced online.

"Breitbart News has stood by me when others caved," Yiannopoulos said in a statement. "I would be wrong to allow my poor choice of words to detract from my colleagues’ important reporting, so today I am resigning from Breitbart, effective immediately. This decision is mine alone."

On Monday, Yiannopoulos was pulled as a featured speaker at the Conservative Political Action Conference, and he later lost a book deal with Simon & Schuster reportedly worth over $250K.
