Last Thursday, in protest of President Trump and his immigration ban, many people took off from work in a show of solidarity for a "Day Without Immigrants."

The protest was to show how reliant many businesses are on the work of immigrants in the United States, which led to many retailers, restaurants, and other businesses shutting down for the day due to being short-staffed. However, because of the protest, reports surfaced saying that some of the people who participated have been fired from their jobs. According to BBC, the people who lost their jobs range from restaurants workers in Oklahoma to painters in Tennessee. One employer who runs a Masonry in Colorado gave his workers a heads up about being fired if they protested, saying "They were warned, if you do this you're hurting the company, and if you go against the team you're not a member of the team."

Despite the protest, President Trump noted that he is set to issue a new executive order attempting his ban again.
