A Florida woman continues to recuperate from an amputation she was forced to undergo after a dispute over a man pushed another woman to run her over earlier this week. As a result of the love triangle gone wrong, the victim, Ashley Weatherspoon, spent her Valentine's Day adapting to the rest of her life without one of her legs, while her attacker, Kasheena Mordica, got a feel for her first day of what looks to be the foreseeable future, behind bars.
The incident happened on Monday night, February 13, in Northwest Miami-Dade, where at around 11:55 p.m. Weatherspoon fell out of a vehicle that had been escaping Mordica. Authorities say that Mordica was pursuing Weatherspoon to inflict harm upon her over a relationship she was having with a mutual lover, Marco Mack. That's when Mordica took advantage of the situation, putting her car in drive and riding over Weatherspoon's leg. Video of the scene shows Weatherspoon laying before a residential gate, with blood staining the pavement around her. She would be rushed to a local hospital, where it was determined that they would have to amputate.
Soon after Mordica was located, identified and arrested, Mack was picked up on an unrelated warrant he had stemming from a burglary. Mordica has been charged with second-degree attempted murder and leaving the scene of an accident.
