The Jay Z-Drake beef has been bubbling below the surface for years now, and while the two are semi-frequent collaborators ("Off That" from Jay Z's 2009 The Blueprint 3, "Pound Cake" from Drake's 2013 Nothing Was the Same), their relationship is often characterized by the subtle shade they throw each other's way. Drake's "Summer Sixteen" contained the line, "I used to wanna be on Roc-A-Fella then I turned into Jay,"; Jay Z may have responded on DJ Khaled's "I Got the Keys": "Till you own your own you can't be free/Till you're on your own you can't be me."

After DJ Khaled dropped "Shining" following the 2017 Grammys, some are speculating that Jay Z is going at Drake again: "I know y’all ain’t out here talking numbers, right?" Jay Z raps, "I know y’all ain’t out here talking summers, right? I know you walkin’ round, talking down/Saying boss shit when you a runner, right?"

Listen to "Shining" above.
