During the late '90s into the early 2000s, Birdman's Cash Money Records was battling it out with Master P's No Limit Records for the crown of hottest rap label in the south. While many folks believe the two labels were involved in a serious rivalry, Cash Money super producer Mannie Fresh insists that's not how it went down.

"It wasn't really like that dude, because everybody that was working there was working with Cash Money," Fresh revealed during an interview with HipHopDX. "We all grew up together. KLC (Craig Stephen Lawson, the in-house producer at No Limit) and me DJ'd in clubs before there was ever a No Limit or Cash Money. We was pretty much like brothers and still that way."
