Donald Trump's controversial travel ban has been halted by U.S. District Judge James Robart, who sided with Washington State and Minnesota urged a nationwide hold on the ban. The two states sued Trump and claimed that the ban caused unreasonable harm while discriminating against Muslims.

Washington state attorney general Bob Ferguson commented on Robart's decision, stating, “This decision shuts down the executive order immediately, shuts it down. That relief is immediate, happens right now. That’s the bottom line.”

He added, “We are a nation of laws. I’m certain the president will not like this decision but it his job, it his obligation, his responsibility to honor it, and I’ll make sure he does.”
