Two and half years following the initial report of the lead contaminating the water supply in Flint, reports have surfaced that the water is now in compliance with federal regulations on lead and copper content.

While the levels of contamination have decreased, progress is slow, with city officials calling the results "encouraging" adding that residents should continue to drink from bottled water and filters for at least another year. The city continues to work on its goal of removing 20,000 tainted lead-tainted water pipes.

In a city where the population is 98,310, (58% of which is black) with 41.6% of residents living below the poverty line, does race and wealth play a factor in the timetable for clean drinking water? Lets us know in the comments.
