Today, Sunday, January 22nd, Yordano Ventura, a right-handed pitcher for the Kansas City Royals, was killed in a car crash in his native Dominican Republic. Ventura was 25.
A source in the Dominican Republic police told ESPN that the accident occurred in the town of Juan Adrian.
Ventura, known for his fiery attitude, had been a Kansas City Royal since 2013, and became a World Series champion with the team in 2015.
