One of the more passionate speeches delivered before the hundreds of thousands who showed up for the Women's March on Washington on Saturday, January 21, was pop queen Madonna. The 58-year-old legend was one of several entertainers, including Ashley Judd and Scarlett Johansson, and politicians, who joined feminists Gloria Steinem and Cecile Richards to demand that the Trump administration address Women's issues. Enormous demonstrations grabbed headlines across the globe, with marches as far as Australia and Brazil joining in solidarity with women in Seattle, Chicago, Boston, New York City.

Madonna expressed discontent over the way women's right to equal pay, the preservation of Roe vs Wade, and other matters concerning women have been given mind in government. At one point she even insinuated that she had thought about taking up arms, saying, "I'm angry. Yes, I am outraged. Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House. But I know that this won't change anything." It is unclear whether she was speaking in the literal sense, or if the remark was made with hyperbole. She went on to says that she's been able to abstain from venturing towards such militancy by choosing love.

The Michigan-born singer completed her time on the podium by leading the crowd to sing along with her classic "Express Yourself," but not before she addressed those who criticize the broad spectrum of women who've taken the day to stand represented. "And to our detractors that insist that this march will never add up to anything: f**k you!" she said.
