Brooklyn rapper Maino couldn't stop himself from cracking up after coming across a line from Donald Trump's inaugural address that has since gone viral. The nation's 45th President delivered a speech that revolved around an "America First" message that characterized traditional Washington politicians as self-serving and unresponsive to the will of American voters. "We are transferring power from Washington D.C. and giving it back to you, the people," he told his crowd of supporters on the National Mall.
Within hours of the ceremony, memes quoting a line from Bane in Batman: Dark Knight Rising had gone into wide circulation around social media. "We take Gotham from the corrupt, and we give it back to you, the people," Bane states at one point in the film.
"This dude Trump's speech was from Batman? Because he said the same s**t that Bane said in Batman," Maino said mid laughter. "N****s is doomed my n***a."
