Reports of racial harassment made by an African-American U.S. Marine have gone unresponded to, he says, and he is calling upon law enforcement to step up their involvement so that he isn't forced to take matters into his own hands.

Sean Reid has filed four reports with the Buffalo Police Department, all having to do with the vandalism of his property with racist slurs. Two of those reports name a local handyman he hired to build a fence around his residence, back in November. Reid has come home to find the words "deadbeat" and "n****r" written on the half completed fence and scratched into his vehicle. He believes the acts to be a spiteful response from the handyman for not having received payment for his work. But according to Reid, their agreement entailed half of the payment when the job began, with the other half to be handed over upon completion. Midway through the project, the man changed his mind, insisting upon incremental installments, says Reid.

"I work, I work hard. I pay my taxes. I mean, I don't bother nobody. And for this to happen, I just want justice to be served," Reid told a local news station. He has even filed report about a threat having been made, handing a letter sent to him by mail over to authorities. The alleged vandal has denied being responsible for the destruction of his property. Reid is upset that more hasn't been done to move the case forward. "I'm angry period; at him, but mainly, you know, that no one has contacted me. I mean, what are they waiting for? For me to harm him and then get in trouble?"
