Leader of the "Alt-Right" movement, Richard Spencer, was assaulted while doing an interview outside of Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony in Washington, DC on Friday, January 20.

In a video that has been circulating the internet, Spencer is recorded speaking to a reporter while a protester holds up signs behind him that reads, "White Lives Matter Too Much." After debunking a question as to whether he is a neo-nazi, and attempting to elaborate on the significance of a pin he was wearing, Spencer was suddenly rushed by a hooded man who came flying in with a blow to his face.

There are reports that residents of Old Town, Alexandria had discovered his plans to stay in town for the inauguration festivities, and that a flyer went around warning neighbors of his political affiliations, but the attack appears to be random. After the assault, Spencer is seen regaining his footing while holding his face in pain and back peddling away.
