NFL great Jim Brown once again came to the defense of President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday morning, January 18, while rebuking the position congressman John Lewis has taken in opposition to his inevitable occupancy of the White House.

Brown shared his thoughts on the feud between the business tycoon and the historical civil rights legislator during an appearance on CNN, just before 10:00 a.m.

"We all respect his history. But when I hear him cry the blues about Mr. Trump, and say that it's an illegitimate Presidency, I take offense to that," said Brown. "If you're going to impeach him impeach him, if he did something wrong, arrest him. But don't cry the blues because you did not get the vote out, and this man had a genius way of winning the election."

Since becoming one of the first notable Black figures to meet with the President-elect, Brown has revisited the question of his support for the 45th President. On Tuesday Brown made waves when he announced a pre-inauguration event he will be hosting for Trump, and attested to the type of youth he works with through his Amer-I-Can program are prepared to act in support of building off of initiatives brought about.

Meanwhile, Trump's squabble with Lewis continued into another day on Tuesday, with Trump rejecting Lewis' claim that he has never sat out of a Presidential inauguration, and pointing out over Twitter that he had in fact sat out the inauguration that followed Bush Jr.'s controversial election victory in 2001.
