Bishop Eddie Long passed away recently, due to an aggressive form of cancer. Long was in the news in the past years for the fall of his church due to sexual abuse allegations that arose.
Long settled a case out of court with four young men who had accused the Bishop of pressuring them to have sex with them while still remaining members of his church. Since Long's passing, former NFL player Deion Sanders has stepped forward to speak on Long by defending him and legacy.
Via Instagram, Sanders pointed out that Long guided him through turbulent times and served as a "fatherly" figure. Sanders also asked that people "refrain from any ignorance or judgment of my Bishop and dear friend. This ain't the time for foolishness. Those that really know me know that I love Bishop Eddie Long to life."
