NFL great Jim Brown continued to pledge his support for Donald Trump once he takes office on January 20th, while announcing that he will be hosting a pre-inauguration event for the President-elect, during an interview on FOX Business Network, on Tuesday, January 17.

Brown was asked what he felt about Rep. John Lewis saying he doesn't find Trump's presidency to be legitimate, and responded by stating his appreciation for the 70-year-old business tycoon's resilience in overcoming attacks to win the election. In doing so, Brown reaffirmed his commitment to working with the Commander In Chief to alleviate some of the problems ailing America's inner cities.

Varney & Co. host Stuart Varney highlighted Brown's work by referencing his assistance in facilitating a truce between the Bloods and the Crips in the 1990's. Brown asserted that he expects building a relationship with Trump will help him initiate such grassroots efforts.

"I'm a community person. I deal down in the community, where you have a lot of young people that don't have fathers, that don't have direction. They need help. They're willing to respond, but you have to take off the gloves and go down in the belly of the beast," said Brown. He cited a 15-year run over which time the city of Watts saw a continual reduction in crime; a result which he accredited to the youth for coming to the table. "So I'm on your show today to give them credit, and to say that Amer-I-Can will support the President in every way we can," he said.
