Some of the most relevant fighters in boxing were on hand for Mayweather Promotions' James DeGale v.s. Badou Jack card at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, on Saturday night [January 14], and a good many of them were posed with the possibility of a Floyd Mayweather v.s. Conor McGregor fight coming to fruition. Adrien Broner was among those who got a chance to speak his thoughts on where talk of such a mega event was left off, when UFC President Dana White rejected Mayweather's $100 million asking price and supplanted it with a counter offer of $25 million, just a day prior.

"He could flush $25 million down his f**king throat," Broner said in response to a Fight Hype reporter's question on White's proposal. Fans will recall that White appeared on FS1's The Herd, and rejected the validity of a number of claims Floyd has made, saying that contrary to what Floyd's has said about McGregor turning down $15 million to fight, he as the MMA company's chief negotiator is yet to have been contacted by Mayweather. Midway through his rant, White began to disseminate Floyd's rationale for assuming that the shots are his to call as the a-side fighter. He would go on to propose that Mayweather agree to the same purse that he promises McGregor. Broner strongly disagreed, citing the $32 million mandatory minimum his boxing predecessor agreed to fight Andre Berto for, as an example of how much of a low ball offer $25 million would be. In Broner's opinion, McGregor needs to take the $15 million Floyd has offered, and run.

"I think McGregor would be a damn fool not to take it. You know. You know, when have you ever made this much money for one night?" said Broner.
