Original Dreamgirls star Jennifer Holliday recently announced that she would be performing at Donald Trump's inauguration set to take place on January 20, 2017. Not long after her announcement, her publicist revealed that the singer did not officially confirm that she would be attending the event. Right after that, the singer actually did confirm for sure that she would be performing at the event.

Now, Holliday has officially announced she is backing out of the performance, and even issued an apology. In her apology, she noted, "I did not take into consideration that my performing for the concert would actually be taken as a political act against my own personal beliefs and mistake for support of Donald Trump and Mike Pence." She also apologized to the LGBT community and made it clear that her career was birthed by the LGBT community.
