Dylann Roof was sentenced to death by a federal jury on Tuesday (January 10) after he was found guilty of killing nine church members in Charleston, South Carolina in a racially motivated attack.

In December, Roof represented himself in court and was sentenced to 33 federal charges. He told jurors he didn't have a mental illness and that he was not sorry for killing the nine people at the AME Church in 2015.
