On his The Life Of Pablo track "Real Friends," Kanye West rhymed that he had to pay $250,000 to his own cousin to get back a laptop that contained videos of him having sex with women. Now, via Daily Mail, another cousin of Kanye named Lawrence Franklin has confirmed the rapper did indeed pay the price. Franklin gave details, saying the laptop was initially given away as a gift to a family member but was then loaned to another family member in 2012. From there, that family member decided to try and blackmail Kanye West into giving up a large amount of money. Franklin also noted that the sex tape featured West and a light skinned black woman.
Franklin also said the sex tape issue caused West not to trust many people including his own family, saying, The sex tape episode started his decline – he stopped trusting people.“At the end of the day if a member of your family had taken you for a quarter of a million dollars – so they can complete their own ambitions – who can you trust within your circle?”
