Adrien Broner will be forced to pay for the impact a 2013 sex tape would eventually have on one of the women who participated in its filming, it was determined on Friday [December 9], when a Nevada court ruled that the leaking of the video from his possession was due to his own negligence. Broner spoke about the impact of the sex tape in an exclusive interview with VladTV earlier this year.

Throughout the trial, Broner had attempted to fight the lawsuit behind his claim that the pornographic recording was leaked by an unknown party after he lost the phone it was stored on. The 27-year-old boxing star argued that misplacing the phone was the result of him struggling to juggle the 3 phones he carries; one of which being for home, another for business, and the phone in question being his "ho phone." But Broner apparently didn't have a good enough answer for why he wouldn't have password-protected the risky gadget so as to secure it's contents from falling into the wrong hands, as was the case when it reared up on World Star Hip Hop.

As a part of the settlement, Broner is being ordered to compensate the plaintiff $40,000 for lost wages. He is also being mandated to pay $135,000 for pain and suffering. "I'm happy to see that the jury saw through the defendant's games. They saw [my client] for who she is and Broner for who he is," attorney Kevin Hanson said of his client's victory.
