There was much talk about 2016 presidential being rigged by hackers, but there has been a lack of proof. However, President Obama has taken the liberty of launching a full review of a possible hacking of the election.

According to Politico, the White House noted that they would be sharing the results of the investigation with stakeholders. Homeland Security Adviser Lisa Monaco said, "We may have crossed into a new threshold and it is incumbent upon us to take stock of that, to review, to conduct some after-action, to understand what has happened and to impart some lessons learned." Previously in October, a statement was issued by President Obama and his administration which stated they were "confident" that Russia was responsible for security breaches related to the election.
