Baltimore police were forced to save a Fox news crew from potential danger after their coverage was disrupted by angry protesters prior to the weekend.

The camera was rolling as WBFF-TV Fox 45 newsman Keith Daniels attempted to report on a local anti-Trump rally, but he found himself trying to send a black-clad demonstrator away as police looked on. The officers appeared to have received instructions to stand down, as they remained complacent for a time, with the reporter showing visible frustration over their inaction.  "Well get him away then! We're live right now. Can't even do my job for this idiot," Daniels shouts at one point. A recording of the incident then shows the protester move in to confront him face to face. "You are an idiot. Shorty get out the way man," Daniels then responds when the man asks "who is an idiot?" He then goes silent as he is told that he is not welcome in the community.

The incident is reported to have occurred on Thursday night, following a march from North Baltimore to the Inner Harbor. There were estimated to be around 600 people involved in a series of actions that concluded at around 10:30 p.m. The police would finally intervene in the conflict involving Daniels, but there was no legal recourse taken, his crew was simply escorted to safety out of the area.
